Record revenue and transaction numbers via Droppery.
At the end of last year, Droppery decided to fully focus its efforts on the home and living sector. In recent weeks, several new interior wholesalers have joined the platform — including Nijwie, Moodscollection, 706 Seating Group, dBodhi, Benoa, Matias Moellenbach, and Jolipa. These developments gave reason for an interview with CEO and founder Marco Mulder.
“In March, we broke records,” says Marco enthusiastically. “A record number of transactions and record revenue through the platform. Many new retailers and great brands want to work with us. Previously, November (around Black Friday) was our best month, but we’ve far exceeded that now.”
Droppery goes beyond processing product data and orders — the platform primarily serves as a sales tool.
Why Wholesalers Join Droppery
Each wholesaler on Droppery’s platform has its own motivation, Marco explains.
On one hand, they want to automate processes for existing customers; on the other, Droppery helps them find new sales locations, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
“If you mainly want new customers, you can receive connection requests from interested retailers via the platform.
If you want to support your current clients, you can offer Droppery as an extra service — and if a few great new requests come along, that’s a nice bonus,” Marco adds.
Examples of this latter approach include Nijwie, Benoa, and Jolipa.
“Jolipa has been live for less than two weeks and already received 18 new requests via Droppery. Customers who gain access to their assortment can now choose from 15,000 different products, and the first orders have already been delivered,” says Marco.
Supporting a Specific Retailer Profile
Droppery also supports many retailers looking for new products, focusing on a specific type of business.
“These are companies that have been active in the industry for a long time and hold authority in the sector. They want to expand their product range but usually lack the physical space,” explains Marco.
“Droppery enables them to put new products live very quickly.”
Examples of retailers using Droppery include Skogen, Duverger Home, and Deens.
Additional Cross-Docking Service
To handle even more orders and onboard new customers, Droppery offers an extra service for wholesalers.
“Many wholesalers only ship B2B orders and deliver free of charge above a certain order value. For these companies, we can now take care of the transport ourselves,” says Marco.
Droppery uses a cross-docking location in Amsterdam, where orders are sent before being forwarded to the end customer.
This service prevents suppliers from canceling orders when retailers don’t meet minimum order values.
“Moreover, the wholesaler only maintains contact with B2B clients and doesn’t deal directly with consumers — something many prefer to avoid because of potential complications,” Marco adds.
Importantly, this service involves cross-docking, not fulfillment.
What’s Next
Droppery continues to grow rapidly but is far from done. Many more well-known industry brands will soon join the platform — more details will follow in the near future.
You can automate your sales channel as a supplier or expand your assortment as an online retailer via Droppery’s website.
